The dating method «Dendrochronology» can be used to measure annual rings of trees. Their different widths refer to a particular growth period.
This method investigates the time gone by; it cuts through time. The annual rings can be linked with historical events.
The work consists of a bronze casting of a wooden board (this time a vertical section of a tree trunk). One can not measure the time in this, not with a scientific method.
The casting leans at a certain angle on the wall in a way that prevents pages of daily newspapers – in each a particular sentence highlighted – from falling down.
