Over the course of a period of time (March 2010–October 2011) I wrote an instruction letter either to people I met occasionally on the street or subway, or to people I already knew (friends, curators, artists) requesting that they send me a letter back featuring their name and address, the location they were writing the letter from, the date and the sentence “Silence Destroys Consequences”, followed by their signature.

This work is loosely inspired by the postal works of the late Italian artist Alighiero&Boetti of the 70s. He used to sent himself letters from Afghanistan, containing sketches, texts, drawings, to his Italian studio or his dealer’s address.
